Multi-vehicle crash causes major delays on I-83 in York County, Pa.
A backup on Interstate 83 led to two crashes involving a total of 10 vehicles in York County, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Video above: Multiple vehicles piled up on I-83Troopers said both crashes happened in the northbound lanes near Exit 40, Limekiln Road, in Fairview Township, around 9 a.m. Wednesday. The first crash happened as vehicles attempted to stop for a backlog when one rear-ended another, causing a chain reaction, according to police. Seven vehicles were involved, and one person was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, troopers said. The second crash involved three vehicles in the backlog of the first wreck when one vehicle rear-ended another and then collided with a tractor-trailer, according to police. No one was injured in that crash. A video from the scene shows multiple vehicles piled up along the highway, seen above. Traffic was backed up for several miles until crews cleared the scene.
