Multi-car collision on West Mercury Boulevard after shooting: Police
A shooting incident at the junction of West Mercury Boulevard and North Armistead Avenue resulted in a collision involving multiple vehicles on Wednesday evening, as per the Hampton police department. The crash occurred when unidentified individuals left their vehicle to shoot at another vehicle nearby. The police responded to reports of gunfire around 7 p.m. at the same intersection, where they discovered the aftermath of the collision involving several vehicles, one of which had been damaged by the gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the crash. Initial findings suggest that individuals from one vehicle approached and fired multiple shots at another vehicle, causing the subsequent collision. The suspects had fled by the time officers reached the scene. The Major Crimes Unit of the HPD is conducting an investigation into the incident, and any information can be reported to the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
