Motorcyclist sent to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Wheat Ridge

DENVER (KDVR) — The intersection at West 32nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Wheat Ridge was closed while police investigated a deadly crash. Just after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the Wheat Ridge Police Department posted on X about a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection around the West Highland neighborhood. This is down the road from the Wheat Ridge Library - Jefferson County Public Library. Police said the motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. Nearly four hours later, the department said the motorcyclist had died. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office will notify the next of kin. The crash and traffic team are still actively investigating. At this time, it's unclear what factors may have led to the crash. Sheridan Boulevard reopened at 11:45 a.m.
