Motorcyclist killed in crash on Southside at age 24

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Tucson's south side where a 24-year-old motorcyclist, Gunnar Robert Dale, lost his life in a collision with a car. Tucson Police reported that Dale was riding his motorcycle south on South Park Avenue when he collided with a car turning left from the northbound lane onto Fair Street. Dale had sped up as the traffic light changed from red to green, exceeding the 40 mph speed limit, leading to the crash that resulted in his death at the scene. The driver of the car, a 65-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was treated on-site. Tucson Police confirmed that the driver was not under the influence at the time of the accident. Factors contributing to the collision included the driver's failure to yield and Dale's excessive speed, as outlined in the official news release.
