Motorcyclist dies in St. Petersburg collision: Police
A tragic accident occurred in St. Petersburg when an SUV turned into the path of a motorcyclist, leading to the motorcyclist's death. The motorcyclist, identified as Mason Derks, 19, was traveling northbound on Park Street North when the collision happened near 28th Ave. The collision happened when a Mazda SUV turned from westbound 28th Avenue North to southbound Park Street North, intersecting with the motorcycle's path. Mason Derks was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront, where he was later pronounced dead on June 14. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation, according to officials from the St. Petersburg Police Department.
