Motorcyclist dies in Hampton crash after fleeing traffic stop

A motorcyclist in Hampton tragically passed away after fleeing from a traffic stop and colliding with an SUV on Thursday morning, as reported by Virginia State Police. The incident began when a state trooper tried to stop a 2007 Kawasaki Motorcycle traveling at 100 mph in a 60-mph zone on I-664 southbound at 10:35 a.m. The motorcyclist refused to stop, speeding up and eventually losing the trooper. Shortly after, there was a crash involving the motorcycle and an SUV at Aberdeen Road and Aluminum Avenue, reported by the Hampton Police Department at 10:39 a.m. The motorcyclist, who failed to obey a red traffic light at the intersection, was declared deceased at Riverside Regional Hospital. The name of the motorcyclist will be released by state police once the next of kin has been informed.
