
Motorcyclist dies in crash with car in Fayetteville along Cliffdale Road, police say
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) -- A motorcyclist died in a crash in west Fayetteville during Tuesday afternoon rush hour, police said. The wreck just after 5:35 p.m. happened near the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Bunce Road, according to a Fayetteville Police Department news release. Medical personnel arrived and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The intersection of Cliffdale Road and Bunce Road was still closed to traffic as of 7:05 p.m. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld until officers can notify the next of kin, according to police. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and find an alternate route of travel. "The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is actively investigating the incident," officers said in the news release.
