Motorcyclist dies in crash on Hwy 98 in Walton County
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - A DeFuniak Springs man has died following a traffic crash on Highway 98 in Walton County on Thursday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Highway 98 and Sandy Cay Drive. Troopers reported that a 27-year-old man was traveling on a motorcycle westbound on Highway 98 inside the left lane at a high rate of speed. It was reported that a pickup truck with a man and a woman from Louisiana was traveling westbound on Highway 98 in front of the motorcyclist. Troopers reported that the motorcyclist collided with the back of the pickup truck and died from his injuries. The occupants of the pickup truck had no reported injuries.
