Motorcyclist dead after crash on Route 69 in Prospect
PROSPECT, Conn. (WTNH) -- A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Route 69 in Prospect Wednesday morning, according to Connecticut State Police. The crash was first reported around 10:37 a.m. at the intersection of Talmadge Hill Road. According to Connecticut State Police, the motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Alexander Kaklyugin, was traveling north on Route 69 when the driver of a 2023 Nissan Rogue attempted to take a left turn onto Route 69. The driver of the Nissan struck the motorcycle, causing Kaklyugin to be separated from his vehicle, state police said. Kaklyugin was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 69 was closed at Talmadge Hill Road until around 2:45 p.m. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
