Mother of Aidan Zingg, 16, shares details on his death from a mid-race accident.

The mother of the late motocross prodigy, Aidan Zingg, has clarified the cause of her son's tragic passing after a fatal crash during a competition in California last month. Shari Zingg revealed to USA Today that her 16-year-old son died due to "cardiac tamponade," putting to rest conflicting reports about the incident. The Mono County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting the autopsy, with the details limited to the family's confirmation. Cardiac tamponade, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic, is a condition where the fluid sac around the heart accumulates too much blood or other fluids, exerting pressure on the heart and hindering proper chamber filling, resulting in a drop in blood pressure. The cause can stem from conditions such as cancer, infections, trauma, and specific diseases, posing a substantial risk without prompt treatment. Initial reports suggested that Zingg was run over by other riders after the crash, but Next Level Sports Management has denied these claims. Kawasaki Racing also issued a statement mourning Zingg's death on social media, acknowledging his contributions to the motocross community. Zingg had been involved in amateur racing since at least 2019 and achieved notable success, including earning an AMA National Championship in the Supermini 2 class the previous year.
