
Mother crashes car into grocery store entrance with infant onboard, according to deputies
A 39-year-old woman, Stephanie Marie Morales from Kinston, North Carolina, crashed her car into the front entrance of a grocery store on Thursday with her 10-month-old baby inside. The incident took place around 4:45 p.m. on U.S. 258. Law enforcement officials from the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office were called to apprehend Morales, who fled the scene but was eventually stopped. When authorities stopped her, they discovered the baby in the front seat without a car seat. A 7-year-old girl inside the store suffered minor injuries. Morales faced various charges, including driving while impaired, misdemeanor child abuse, reckless driving, hit and run, and several others. She was not granted bail.
