Moped accident in Posey County leaves one dead
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An investigation is underway after a moped accident in Posey County left one dead. Chief Deputy Jeremy Fortune says 71-year-old Kane Thompson was on his moped when he ran off the road and into a ditch on County Line Road, just north of State Road 62. We're told this was initially called in when a passerby found Thompson lying in the ditch with the moped on his leg on Saturday afternoon. Fortune says Thompson was taken to the hospital, and died on Sunday from blunt force trauma. We're told investigators found no visible skid marks on the road near the ditch that Thompson was found in. Fortune tells us they are still waiting on a pathology report. This is an ongoing investigation.
