Kalispell Fire Chief Jay Hagen mentioned that the incident occurred as a small plane was landing at Kalispell City Airport and experienced an unexpected issue, resulting in a crash and subsequent fire that spread to the taxiway. Emergency responders from various agencies were swift to arrive at the scene, and all four passengers on the plane managed to evacuate safely. Fortunately, no one was aboard the stationary plane that was struck during the incident. The FAA will oversee the investigation into the crash.
