Minnesota Twins honor Iowa Lakes baseball team after deadly crash

Friday night the Minnesota Twins baseball team paid tribute to the Iowa Lakes Community College baseball player who was killed in a crash earlier this week. Video above: Father of Iowa Lakes student killed in bus crash shares his son's legacyIn a post on Facebook, the Twins posted a picture of their stadium, Target Field, lit up with blue and yellow lights with the message, "Last night we lit our stadium in blue and yellow in honor of Carter Johnson and the entire Iowa Lakes Community College baseball team following their tragic bus accident."The crash occurred at around 11 a.m. Wednesday and left more than 30 people injured and one dead.According to the Iowa State Patrol crash report, the driver of the bus failed to negotiate a curve on Iowa Highway 4 near Marengo Avenue, causing the bus to roll over onto its side. Two of the occupants in the bus were ejected and trapped under the vehicle when it stopped rolling.First responders from four different counties responded to the crash, including Calhoun, Webster, Sac, and Pocahontas counties.
