Minivan crash at assisted living facility referred to grand jury
In Knoxville, Tennessee, a woman named Eleasah Williams, 24, is facing charges of vehicular homicide after crashing into an assisted living facility earlier this year. She recently appeared in court for a preliminary hearing, where the case moved forward to a grand jury for further review to determine if she will face indictment. The incident occurred on June 14 at the Shannondale Assisted Living Facility when Williams, who was reportedly in a distressed state, crashed a Kia minivan into the building. Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of a resident, Walter Humphrey, 96. Williams was also injured in the incident and is currently detained at the Roger D. Wilson detention facility.
