Milwaukee man killed in two-vehicle Caledonia crash

A Milwaukee man is dead, and a Racine man was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Caledonia on May 25.The Caledonia Police Department said they were dispatched with the fire department to County Highway V and Northwestern Avenue just before 12:15 p.m.According to the police department's preliminary investigation, a black Mercedes SUV, driven by a 70-year-0ld Milwaukee man, was heading west on Northwestern Avenue when his SUV suddenly crossed the center line and crashed into a black Dodge pickup truck, which was towing a boat.Police said the driver of the truck, a 62-year-old man from Racine, was taken to a hospital, but has since been released. He was the only person inside his truck.The Milwaukee man and driver of the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene. He was also the only person inside the SUV, according to police.The Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit and the Racine County Sheriff's Office are helping with the investigation.Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Caledonia police at 262-835-4423 extension 1023 and speak to Det. Chad Zoltak."Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are affected by this tragic incident," the Caledonia Police Department wrote in a post.
