Mexico teen dies in motorcycle crash after being thrown from bike
MEXICO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A 17-year-old boy died in an afternoon motorcycle crash in Oswego County on Saturday, July 11. According to a statement from New York State Police, at around 2 p.m., troopers in Hastings went out to Munger Hill Road on State Route 3 following reports of a motorcycle crash, where they found 17-year-old Dalton Cummins at the scene. Following an initial investigation, police determined that Cummins, of Mexico, tried to pass another driver around a curve on his motorcycle when he lost control. He then hit a tree and was thrown from the bike. At the time of the crash, Cummins was driving southbound, police said. Cummins was later pronounced dead after being taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
