Metrolink train halted due to dramatic North Hollywood railroad crash
A Metrolink train came to a halt due to a serious collision that resulted in one vehicle overturning and an SUV landing on top of another vehicle in North Hollywood on Tuesday morning. Five vehicles were involved in the crash around 6:45 a.m. on Vineland Avenue near Vanowen Street. At 7 a.m., Sky5 was at the scene where the collision had damaged a railroad crossing, causing the approaching Metrolink train from the Ventura County Line to stop as a precaution. Despite the severity of the crash, all six individuals involved were assessed on-site and none were found to have critical injuries. Five individuals were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, while one person declined transport. Following safety protocols, the Metrolink train was permitted to resume its journey after a brief stop at 7:30 a.m., while Metrolink officials alerted passengers to anticipate delays as the investigation into the crash's cause continues.
