'Merging dispute' linked to deadly 7-car collision on I-35W at Mounds View
Troopers attributed a fatal seven-vehicle crash on Monday morning to a "merging conflict" on I-35W in Minnesota. The incident resulted in the tragic death of a Brooklyn Park man. MnDOT reported that the southbound lanes of I-35W were closed near County Road I due to a serious crash. The closure affected traffic just south of Highway 10, with the exit ramp from Highway 10 to I-35W also being closed. Fortunately, the highway was reopened later in the afternoon. According to a Minnesota State Patrol report, the collision occurred around 10 a.m., involving multiple vehicles including semis, SUVs, and a minivan in addition to the Chevy Impala driven by the deceased individual. Several individuals sustained injuries in the crash but were expected to recover.
