
Memorial for former Olathe detective following fatal accident
A memorial service was held in Olathe, Kansas, on Saturday to honor the life of retired Olathe Police detective Brian Peters, who tragically passed away in a car accident on August 2nd. Friends, family, and colleagues of Peters gathered at an Olathe pizzeria to pay their respects and celebrate his contributions to the community. Lindsay Rutten, a friend of Peters and the manager of Ava Rae’s Pizzeria and Pub, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by those who attended the event. Peters, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, had dedicated 31 years to law enforcement, with 24 of those spent at the Olathe Police Department before his retirement in 2020. Known for his unwavering loyalty and willingness to help others, Peters was a cherished figure among his peers.
