Medical problem potentially linked to deadly collision on Pontiac Lake Road, per police document
An elderly driver was found unconscious and unfortunately passed away after his car crashed into a utility pole and a tree early Friday morning in Oakland County, Michigan. The incident occurred around 7:55 a.m. on Pontiac Lake Road close to Airport Road. Emergency services from the Waterford Township Police and Waterford Regional Fire Department arrived at the scene, where they discovered the 86-year-old man still in the vehicle. Attempts were made to revive the man with CPR before he was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, where he was pronounced dead. According to the authorities, it seems the driver had a medical emergency that led to him veering off the road and hitting the obstacles. The Waterford Citizens Emergency Response Team assisted with traffic control, while DTE Energy crews were called in to manage the damaged pole and wires.
