Medical issue could have contributed to fatal crash in Wayne County
In East Union Township, a tragic car accident resulted in the passing of a 76-year-old Orrville man named David Clay Wertz. The Ohio State Highway Patrol received a report about a vehicle in a ditch on Apple Creek, and upon reaching the scene, they discovered Wertz's gray Chrysler Pacifica had veered off the road and stopped at the bottom of a small embankment. Wertz was found deceased inside the vehicle. Authorities suspect a medical emergency could have contributed to the crash, and the incident is now being investigated.
