Medical Issue a Factor in Crash That Killed Fort Pierce Man
The Fort Pierce police reported that a multi-vehicle collision resulting in one fatality and the closure of a major intersection for eight hours was influenced by a "medical-related emergency." The incident occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Edwards Road when a series of collisions took place. A white Kia Sportage driven by Rocco Bhagarattie was involved in several side-swiping incidents before crashing into a Cadillac DeVille driven by Gary Johns, who tragically passed away in the hospital as a result. Following the collision, Bhagarattie's car overturned and hit three more vehicles. A total of seven vehicles were involved, and two other drivers sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. The Fort Pierce police have launched an investigation into the crash.
