Mastodon Guitarist Brent Hinds' Speeding Linked to Fatal Crash
Atlanta police have determined that speed was the primary factor in the motorcycle accident that tragically took the life of Mastodon co-founder William Brent Hinds last month. Reports indicate that Hinds was traveling at speeds between 63 and 68 mph, well above the posted speed limit of 35 mph, when he collided with a BMW SUV at an Atlanta intersection. Despite initial speculation that the SUV driver may have failed to yield, further investigation indicated that Hinds' speed contributed to the crash. The final assessment concluded that Hinds was at fault. The Fulton County Medical Examiner determined that Hinds passed away due to blunt force injuries in what was classified as an accident.
