
Maryland troopers investigating fatal car crash in Howard County
HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Maryland State Police (MSP) is investigating a car crash that killed a man early Monday morning. Troopers responded to a ramp on Interstate 70 just before 12:30 a.m. for reports of a car crash. A preliminary investigation shows that a 17-year-old was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer in the wrong direction on the I-70 ramp and hit a Toyota Camry head-on. The crash killed the Camry driver, who was identified as 49-year-old Fred Eromosele Ehimen. The 17-year-old was flown to the hospital and his passengers, a 13 and 16 16-year-old old were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. It was revealed that the Explorer was stolen, and deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, along with officers from the Howard County Police Department, were chasing the car. Law enforcement called off the chase several miles before the crash happened. The crash is still being investigated, and charges are pending.
