Marquette lacrosse players killed in crash mourned by campus

Marquette University is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lacrosse players Noah Snyder, age 20, and Scott Michaud, age 19, who tragically passed away in a car accident near campus on Friday night. To honor their memory, students and faculty came together for a campus mass. According to Milwaukee police, the collision took place at 5 p.m. at the intersection of 27th and St. Paul Avenue when their car was struck by a 41-year-old driver who was later arrested at the scene. Amid the solemn atmosphere on campus, Owen Parkhouse, a Marquette freshman, expressed that the community was deeply affected by the loss. Despite not knowing Snyder and Michaud personally, many students gathered to pay their respects and emphasize unity during this difficult time. The university community came together to support the men's lacrosse team, where Snyder, a business student from New York, and Michaud, a biomedical sciences major from Ohio, were valued members. A heartfelt mass was conducted in their honor, attended by numerous individuals who knew and admired the two athletes. In light of this tragedy, Marquette University canceled all home athletic events to provide students with the necessary time and space for mourning and healing.
