Marine from Camp Lejeune charged in fatal crash on I-40 in Wake County
A fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 near Cary and Raleigh resulted in the death of one person on Thursday afternoon. The collision involved various vehicles, including a gray Honda Accord, a Ford pickup truck, a Ford Focus, and a Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the Honda Accord, identified as Diego Andres Martinez Duque, made an unsafe lane change which led to a series of collisions, ultimately resulting in the death of a passenger in the Accord, Jesus Alexander Colin. Both Duque and Colin were members of the U.S. Marine Corps. The highway was temporarily closed following the incident but has since reopened.
