Manhunt ongoing for fatal Santa Monica hit-and-run perpetrator
Newly obtained video footage has emerged showing the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Santa Monica, where two individuals were killed, and two others injured. The crash took place on Oct. 24 around 9:15 p.m. on Wilshire Boulevard. Santa Monica Police Department's initial findings suggest that the driver of an Orange Dodge Charger was traveling in the wrong direction on Wilshire, even mounting the sidewalk, before colliding with the victims. The incident was captured by surveillance cameras at Harvest Cannabis, revealing the vehicle speeding onto the sidewalk just before the tragic collision. Initially reported as one fatality, it was later confirmed that a second victim had also died at the scene. Two others injured in the incident are expected to survive, according to a recent SMPD statement. The driver fled the scene on foot, leaving the damaged vehicle behind. Investigators, while not suspecting intent, are treating the case as a felony hit-and-run. Efforts are in place to track down the responsible individual, with no arrests made as of now.
