In Ferguson, a man is facing serious charges after crashing a stolen car and attempting to steal two more vehicles. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has filed charges against Dwayne Smith, 34, for vehicle hijacking, tampering with a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident. The incident unfolded this Tuesday, leading to Smith's arrest near the First Baptist Church of Ferguson. Reports state that Smith was driving recklessly in a stolen BMW when he caused a collision and then tried to carjack other vehicles. He was detained after a struggle with a victim who brandished a weapon. A preliminary hearing for Smith's case is slated for September 2 in Ferguson.
