Man sentenced for causing deadly crash while driving under the influence

A man involved in a deadly drunk driving accident in 2024 faced a sentencing hearing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jesus Moreno was given a nine-year prison term for the crash that resulted in the death of Jaime Rios-Martinez. The incident occurred on Coors near Jemez River Rd., where Moreno was apprehended by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office after rear-ending another vehicle. Moreno, whose blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit three hours after the collision, was sentenced to nine years in prison by Judge Cindy Leos.
