Man killed, woman critically hurt in Harnett County rollover crash, NCSHP officials say

ANGIER, N.C. (WNCN) — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a rollover crash in Harnett County early Wednesday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened along Oak Grove Church Road near Owens Road in the Angier area. Investigators said a vehicle traveling north on Oak Grove Church Road crossed the center line, veered off the left side of the road and struck a mailbox. The driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. A man died as a result of the crash, while a woman was taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, officials said. State troopers said they are still working to determine which occupant was driving at the time of the crash. Both occupants, who are believed to be in their 40s, were not wearing seatbelts, according to investigators. The identity of the man who died is being withheld by troopers at this time until next of kin is notified.
