
Man killed by vehicle while walking dog in Carmel Valley.
A tragic incident occurred in Carmel Valley Sunday night where a man lost his life after being struck by a car while walking his dog, as reported by San Diego police. The accident was reported around 6 p.m. following a call from a witness who saw her husband being hit by a Lexus while walking their dog in the 5000 block of Carmel Knolls Drive. Emergency services responded to find the man unresponsive, and despite CPR efforts, he was later pronounced dead at the Scripps Health campus in La Jolla. The dog was also injured and taken to a vet by bystanders. The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Investigations by the SDPD Traffic Division are ongoing, with DUI ruled out as a factor.
