Man injured by stick while rappelling, airlifted to hospital

A 40-year-old man was injured while rappelling in the Three Falls area near Alpine, Utah. He fell and was injured when a stick impaled his upper thigh. Utah County Sheriff's Office reported that Utah County Search and Rescue and Lone Peak Fire District responded to the accident, and managed to control the bleeding by applying pressure to the wound. Life Flight arrived to airlift the man out of the area to a medical facility.
