Man in Sacramento arrested for felony in deadly pedestrian accident.

Sacramento Police Department apprehended and detained Geoffrey Haenggi, 41, of Sacramento, in connection with an alleged hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in October. Haenggi was taken into custody on felony hit-and-run charges and several firearm-related offenses, and he is currently being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail. It is unclear if he is eligible for bail. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 25, near Florin Road and 24th Street in South Sacramento, as reported by SPD. Although initial reports suggested two vehicles may have been involved, both had left the scene by the time officers arrived. The Major Collision and Crime Scene Investigators from Sacramento Police Department are investigating the incident, with no information yet released on whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Authorities praised the diligent efforts of their investigators on social media.
