Man in cape killed in fast motorcycle wreck, cops report
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon on Cape Cod where a 28-year-old motorcyclist lost their life after colliding with a pickup truck at the intersection of Station Avenue and Wood Road. Yarmouth police responded to the crash scene around 4 p.m. after initially receiving a report of a motorcycle hitting a mailbox. However, upon arrival, they discovered the motorcyclist with severe injuries on the ground and later found out that a pickup truck was also involved in the collision. The driver of the truck remained at the scene. According to the preliminary investigation, the pickup truck was crossing Wood Road when the motorcyclist, speeding south on Station Avenue, crashed into it, ultimately hitting a granite mailbox post. The victim, identified as Keean Laakso from South Yarmouth, tragically passed away at the scene and no charges have been filed so far.
