Man in Altona injured in fast crash

An Altona resident was hospitalized with serious injuries after a single-car accident on Brand Hollow Road in Peru on July 6. According to Clinton County Sheriff's deputies, 25-year-old Christopher Reil was driving a Honda CRV at a high speed when he lost control of the vehicle around 6:45 p.m. Reil, who was the only person in the car, was taken to the University of Vermont, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for treatment of severe injuries. He received citations for reckless driving and other traffic violations, with the possibility of more charges pending. Emergency responders from Peru Fire Department, South Plattsburgh Fire Department, CVPH EMS, and the New York State Police also assisted at the scene.
