Man from Rocky Mount accused in deadly fiery wreck on US 64 East in Wake County, according to troopers
In the recent video, a man has been arrested on multiple charges following a fatal crash in eastern Wake County. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has reported that Davon Montrea King, 24 years old, was charged in relation to the death of a passenger in his vehicle during a single-car collision on U.S. Highway 64/Interstate 87 at mile marker 432 near Lizard Lick Road, just outside Wendell. The vehicle was traveling east on the highway, veered off the road, hit the median guardrail, struck a tree, and caught fire. The identity of the deceased passenger is still being determined by authorities. King, who suffered injuries in the crash, was taken to a nearby hospital and charged following his recovery. He is set to appear in court in September, and investigations by NCSHP are ongoing.
