Man from Massachusetts dies in collision following speedy police chase in New Hampshire

A 20-year-old individual from Massachusetts passed away early Sunday following a high-speed police pursuit that culminated in a collision on Interstate 93 in Canterbury, New Hampshire, as confirmed by New Hampshire State Police. The individual, identified as Benjamin Tapia-Gately of Saugus, was operating a blue 2020 Honda Civic when a trooper aimed to pull him over for speeding on I-93 northbound near Exit 12 at 12:51 a.m., state police detailed in an announcement. Tapia-Gately did not comply with the stop and initiated a chase, with the Honda swerving at speeds up to 120 mph, according to the report. "As the Honda approached Exit 18, the driver tried to exit but lost control. The vehicle veered off the road, crossed the northbound on-ramp, descended an incline, and collided with a tree," as stated by state police. Tapia-Gately, the only occupant of the Honda during the accident, was pronounced deceased at the location, according to State Police. The incident is currently being looked into.
