Man from Lynn Haven arrested for DUI in deadly collision in Bay County
A tragic accident occurred in Bay County, Florida early Sunday morning as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash, which took place at 1:20 a.m., involved an SUV driven by a 26-year-old resident of Lynn Haven and a motorcycle operated by a 64-year-old individual from Panama City Beach. The collision occurred on County Road 392 Thomas Drive when the SUV rear-ended the motorcycle, causing it to overturn and ejecting both the driver and passenger. Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle passed away at the scene, while the passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Fort Walton Beach, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Acension Sacred Heart Bay for treatment. Following the incident, the SUV driver continued driving before being located and apprehended by authorities. The driver was subsequently arrested on charges of DUI Manslaughter, DUI serious bodily injury, leaving the scene resulting in death, and leaving the scene resulting in serious bodily injury.
