Man from Kirbyville killed in single-car accident

A tragic single-vehicle accident near Kirbyville, Missouri resulted in the death of the driver and serious injuries to a passenger on Wednesday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred when a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling east on State Highway 76, failed to negotiate a curve shortly after 7 p.m. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road, collided with a sign, and overturned. The driver, a 30-year-old resident of Kirbyville, was pronounced dead at Cox Hospital in Branson, while a 37-year-old female passenger from Kirbyville sustained serious injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. This marks the 53rd fatality this year for MSHP Troop D in 2025.
