Man from Belvidere found responsible for DUI in fatal accident involving 16-year-old
A man from Belvidere, Justin Lee, has been found guilty by a Boone County jury of causing the death of a 16-year-old Harlem student in a drunk driving incident that occurred in August 2024. Due to the crash involving his Ford F350 overturning after leaving the roadway, the student, Jazyln Davidson, was tragically killed after being ejected from the vehicle. Lee, found guilty of two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol causing death, now faces a potential prison sentence of up to 14 years at his upcoming sentencing on October 17th. The Boone County State's Attorney's Office stated a preference for the charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Causing Death over Reckless Homicide in such cases, emphasizing the more serious consequences associated with the former charge.
