Man detained following fatal collision in Orland Park
A man has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal collision in Orland Park. The incident occurred near the intersection of South Harlem Avenue and 159th Street when a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old resident of Romeoville was struck by another vehicle travelling southbound on Harlem Avenue. Sadly, the 23-year-old driver passed away from his injuries. Through thorough investigation, authorities identified and arrested 41-year-old Robert Barajar of Tinley Park as the suspect, who fled the scene after the crash. Barajar has been charged with various offenses and had his initial court appearance on Thursday, June 5. Orland Park Police Chief Eric Rossi expressed condolences to the victim's family, emphasizing the department's commitment to seeking justice. The investigation is ongoing as detectives gather more evidence related to the case.
