Man charged with negligent homicide after deadly Whitefish collision

A 20-year-old driver named Andrew Sullivan from Marion, Montana is facing felony charges of negligent homicide following a fatal crash near Whitefish. The incident occurred early Saturday morning when Sullivan's Dodge Ram veered off Mountain Meadow Road, striking two trees after going down an embankment. Tragically, a 17-year-old girl from Bigfork lost her life in the accident. It was revealed that she was not wearing a seatbelt. Authorities discovered alcohol and marijuana containers in the truck, with Sullivan's breath test indicating a .057 alcohol level. This is not Sullivan's first offense, as he had previously been cited for DUI in May. He is currently in custody with a bond set at $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on September 4th.
