Man charged with DUI following fatal crash that claimed lives of two children near Las Vegas
A man has been arrested in connection with a tragic collision on Interstate 15 near Las Vegas that resulted in the deaths of two children. Steven Woods, 40, is facing multiple charges, including two counts of DUI resulting in death, following the crash which occurred near Bunkerville. In addition to the DUI charges, Woods is also accused of reckless driving resulting in death, speeding, and not wearing a seat belt. The incident involved multiple vehicles and left five individuals injured. The identities of the children have not been released at this time. Woods' bail has been set at $350,000, and he has been ordered to wear a drug patch and refrain from driving if he is able to post bond. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson expressed concern over the frequency of such cases and highlighted the need for stricter penalties in Nevada.
