Man charged in Milwaukee hit-and-run incident; accused individual currently on the run
A 20-year-old man from Milwaukee named Xavier Perez has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on the south side of the city in August 2024. The incident involved a gray Toyota SUV that collided with a building, resulting in the death of a woman who was a passenger in the vehicle. The striking vehicle, a white Cadillac SUV which was reported stolen, was found abandoned nearby with its engine dislodged from the car. Surveillance footage captured the Cadillac speeding and swerving into oncoming traffic before crashing into the Toyota. DNA evidence collected from the Cadillac linked Perez to the crash. Despite being wanted by the police, Perez is currently not in custody as a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
