The incident occurred when Milwaukee police responded to a report of an individual with a weapon at Midtown Center. When officers located a vehicle matching the description and attempted to stop it, the driver drove off, initiating a high-speed chase that involved running multiple stop signs and a red light. The pursuit spanned nearly three miles and ended when the driver lost control and collided with a house. The driver, identified as Richard, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by an officer. The passenger in the vehicle managed to escape and remains unidentified. An investigation revealed that the vehicle involved in the crash had been reported stolen.
