Man Avoids Prison After 2023 Fatal Crash
A man in Austin was recently sentenced in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in February 2023. Court documents from Travis County reveal that Miguel Villanueva-Ramirez, aged 31, pleaded guilty to a charge of collision involving death. However, he was ultimately convicted on a lesser charge of collision involving injury and given a 315-day prison sentence. Due to a jail credit of 323 days, Villanueva-Ramirez will not have to serve any prison time as he already fulfilled the terms of the sentence. The charge stemmed from the death of Luis Gonzalez-Morales, who was thrown from a vehicle during a rollover in East Austin. Additionally, authorities discovered several beer glasses and cans both inside and outside the vehicle at the accident scene.
