Man arrested for fatal hit-and-run in New Orleans
A man from St. Bernard has been taken into custody regarding a fatal hit-and-run from last Saturday morning. New Orleans law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Thomas Riggio, a 19-year-old individual, who has been charged with hit-and-run driving leading to death. The tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Alvar Street and Saint Claude Avenue at approximately 4:27 a.m., where a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Riggio, who fled the scene. The victim was declared deceased upon police arrival. Andy Trombatore, the owner of Bokah Bikes, a nearby bicycle repair shop, expressed shock at the heartless act of leaving someone in distress.
