Man arrested by police after fleeing accident on hoverboard, causing injuries
A man in Millcreek, Utah, named Christopher Calton is facing charges after an incident in which he allegedly caused an accident and then fled the scene on a hoverboard back in July. The charges against Calton, 45, were filed on September 2, 2025, in connection to the accident that happened near Richmond Street and Highland Drive. He is charged with one felony count of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, among other charges. Witnesses, including Dallas Bailey, reported that a 2005 Chevy Impala hit other vehicles, leading to a collision. After the crash, the driver gathered their things and left on a hoverboard. According to documents, multiple witnesses identified Calton as the driver through a police lineup. Bailey described being involved in the accident and attending to his son's injuries, who sustained a facial laceration, while he himself suffered a shoulder injury. Another driver also reported being hit unexpectedly in the incident. Calton appeared in court recently and is set to return for a detention hearing on September 15.
