Man airlifted after being trapped in a crash in Jamestown Township

A man from Hastings was airlifted to the hospital after being trapped in his vehicle during a collision with a pickup truck pulling a trailer in Jamestown Township, Michigan. The incident occurred at the intersection of 48th Avenue and Byron Road around 4:11 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the Hastings man, 40, failed to stop at a stop sign while driving an Audi, leading to the crash with a Ford F550 pickup truck driven by a 34-year-old man from Holland. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road, with the Audi ending up on its side with the pickup truck on top of it. Firefighters had to extricate the Audi driver from the vehicle, who suffered serious injuries and was flown to the hospital by Aero Med. Fortunately, the pickup truck driver was unharmed. Both individuals were restrained by seatbelts. Emergency responders from Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Zeeland Township, and Jamestown Township fire and rescue were also at the scene.
